Atmospheric Color Final

So I took one of my perspective assignments and used it for part of my final. We had to take an image and color it in a analogous split complementary color motif, with atmosphere. Big words for make it look pretty and push back the background while only using a few colors. I'm pretty happy with the way it came out! Some of the subtle lines didn't come out in the photo but I think the effect translates.

I'm really glad I took this class over summer. If any AAU students come across this remember two things: A) Chris Douche is a douche (not his real name but close enough) B) Don't bother trying to steal art from the interwebz, they ALWAYS know.

Oh, and Gauche is FUCK ALL EXPENSIVE.

Finished Self Portrait

Im not super happy with it, but not disappointed terribly either, just blah. But here it is!!

Ya my mat is terrible, I messed it up. Oh well. The project was to use a complementary analogous palette, with grey scale over lays. Got points for full range of saturation and value, minus points for presentation. lol

Warm and Cool Study

Cute little monsters!! Painting in guache is STILL annoying, but these cute little monsters make it easier. Its just color by numbers still, but I added some labels on their little bags. Yes, That says Raw Meat. The project here was to created a color scheme and then fill in one with a little orange added and another with a little blue added. In the shadows, the cool study has warm shadows and vice versa.
Yes. The orange guys bag says taco.

Midterm- Contrast Self Portrait

Ugh, midterms. This super annoying time in school cannot be denied. Oh well. He he! This is my project, not the best work I've ever done, but cool looking still. The goal of this assignment is to take contrasting colors (purple and yellow) black and white, and create a value and saturation scale to render a self portrait. I HATE self portraits. I look funny. Oh well, I like to make people laugh ;)

Ill post the finished piece soon! But Douche already said it was to "acid" looking. ok, I like saturation (color). You never said we couldnt use saturation (color). This IS COLOR and design.

Analgous Portrait

Paint by numbers! We had to do an analgous color scheme, then also tint, tone and shade it. THEN apply to a template

24 Color Wheel

Possibly the bain of most peoples exsistance. Heres my WIP, aka work in progress. My colors came out very nice, but got marked down for the swatches being a little to big :(
